Connecting your Caro account
Caro authenticates API access with a single API key, sent on every request — there’s no OAuth step.Who should generate the key
A Caro API key inherits the permissions of whichever user creates it. Create it from a user account that has permission to view headcount data — a key from an account without that permission will connect but fail to sync.Generate an API key
- In Caro, go to Settings → API Keys.
- Click to create a new key.
- Copy the key immediately — it’s shown only once, at creation.
Note: you can disable or rotate the key at any time from the same Settings → API Keys screen.
Enter your credentials
- Click Connect above to open the connection form.
- Paste the copied key into the API Key field.
- Click Connect to save.
