Adding Human Intelligence as a custom connector lets you make people analytics queries directly from Claude. Connectors are attached to your Claude account, so a connector you add on claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop when signed in as the same user.

Quick setup

Open in Claude

Opens the Add custom connector dialog on claude.ai with the name and server URL already filled in.

Click Open in Claude

The Add custom connector dialog opens directly, with the Name set to Human Intelligence and the Remote MCP server URL set to https://chat.svc.humanintelligence.com/mcp.

Verify the URL

Because the fields were pre-filled from a link, claude.ai asks you to confirm the URL before continuing. Check that it reads exactly:
This prompt is expected — Claude shows it for any connector added from an external link.

Add the connector

Click Add, then click Connect. Claude opens the Human Intelligence sign-in window.

Sign in and allow access

Sign in as usual if necessary, then click Allow Access to grant Claude access to your Human Intelligence user account.

Manual setup

Use this if you’d rather not follow a pre-filled link, or if you’re adding the connector from within Claude Desktop.

Open Customize

Click Customize in the left nav.

Open Connectors

Click Connectors in the left nav.

Add a connector

Click the + icon above the list of existing connectors, then click Add Custom Connector from the dropdown.

Enter the name and URL

Enter the Name as Human Intelligence and the remote MCP URL as https://chat.svc.humanintelligence.com/mcp.

Add the connector

Click the Add button, then click Connect.

Sign in to Human Intelligence

A new window will open with the Human Intelligence login. Sign in as usual if necessary.

Allow access

Click Allow Access to grant Claude access to your Human Intelligence user account.

Verifying the connection

Ask Claude something only your governed data can answer — for example, “What datasets do I have access to in Human Intelligence?” Claude should call the Human Intelligence connector and return your organization’s datasets. If you want to confirm which identity Claude is acting as, ask “Who am I in Human Intelligence?” — this calls the whoami tool and reports the account, roles, and permissions in use.
Claude connects as you. It sees exactly the data your Human Intelligence account is permitted to see — no more. See Identity and permissions for details.
Connecting is per user. Each person on your team adds the connector with their own account, and each gets their own permissions — so the link above is safe to share with your whole team.
