Human Intelligence works best when it can see the full picture. Connecting your people systems lets the platform build governed metrics, segments, and reports from data you already have.

How to Connect a System

1

Navigate to Integrations

Open Settings > Integrations from the left sidebar. You will see a list of available providers and any connections you have already set up.
2

Choose a Provider

Find the system you want to connect and click Add Connection. Each provider card shows the type of data it brings in (applicants, employees, performance reviews, and so on).
3

Authorize the Connection

Follow the on-screen prompts. Depending on the provider, you will either sign in through OAuth or paste an API key. Human Intelligence will tell you exactly which permissions are needed.
4

Verify Sync Status

Once connected, the provider tile updates to show its sync status. Your first sync may take a few minutes. You can check progress on the provider detail page.

Supported Systems

HRIS

Workday and BambooHR bring in your core employee records, org structure, job history, and compensation data.

Applicant Tracking

Greenhouse, Ashby, and Gem sync candidates, applications, interviews, offers, and pipeline stages.

Performance & Engagement

Lattice and Culture Amp provide review cycles, ratings, goals, and engagement survey results.

Workplace & Collaboration

Slack and Envoy add collaboration activity and office attendance signals for a fuller picture of how your team works.
OAuth vs. API keys — Most providers support OAuth, which lets you authorize in a few clicks without handling credentials. If your provider requires an API key, your IT or systems team can usually generate one from the provider’s admin console. When in doubt, start with OAuth.

Connection Statuses

After you connect a system, its status tells you whether data is flowing correctly.
StatusWhat It Means
ActiveEverything is syncing successfully. No action needed.
InactiveThe connection exists but syncing is turned off. You can re-enable it from the provider detail page.
DegradedSome resources are syncing but others have issues. Check the provider detail page for specifics.
ErrorThe connection needs attention — credentials may have expired or permissions may have changed.
Need a system that is not listed? We are always adding new integrations. Reach out to your Human Intelligence contact or email us, and we will let you know what is on the roadmap.

What Happens After You Connect

Once a provider is active, Human Intelligence begins building datasets from the synced data. Those datasets power the metrics, segments, and reports your team will use every day. You do not need to map dimensions manually — the platform handles that for you. For a deeper look at how integrations feed the rest of the platform, see Integrations and Datasets & Fields.
