# Invite Your Team

> Add teammates and set up the right access levels.

Human Intelligence is built for collaboration. The sooner your team is on the platform, the sooner everyone is working from the same trusted numbers. This guide walks you through adding people and making sure they see only the data they should.

## How to Invite Teammates

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Settings">
    Open **Settings > Team** from the left sidebar. This is where you manage everyone who has access to your Human Intelligence workspace.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Team Members">
    Click **Invite Members** and enter one or more email addresses. You can invite people individually or paste a list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign Roles">
    Choose a role for each person you invite. Roles control what someone can see and do inside the platform. See the role breakdown below for guidance.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set Up SSO (Optional)">
    If your organization uses single sign-on, you can enable it under **Settings > Security**. Once SSO is active, new teammates sign in with their company credentials -- no separate password needed.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Roles at a Glance

Every person in your workspace has exactly one role. Here is what each role can do.

| Role | What They Can Do |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Admin** | Full access. Manage integrations, invite users, configure governance, and view all data. |
| **Analyst** | Explore metrics, manage definitions, and access data allowed by their categories and permissions. |
| **Viewer** | View shared reports and metrics. Cannot build new analyses or change settings. |
| **Restricted** | Access limited to specific reports or metrics explicitly shared with them. Ideal for external partners or narrow use cases. |

<Warning>
  **Set permissions before you share sensitive data.** Make sure your categories and permissions are configured before inviting teammates who should not see compensation, demographic, or other sensitive dimensions. Roles alone control feature access -- categories and permissions control data access.
</Warning>

## A Quick Note on Categories and Permissions

Roles determine what someone can *do* (explore metrics, manage integrations, invite users). Categories and permissions determine what someone can *see* (compensation metrics, demographic dimensions, recruiting dimensions).

Think of it this way:

* **Role** = feature access.
* **Categories and permissions** = data access.

You will want both in place for a secure, well-governed workspace.

## Tips for a Smooth Rollout

<Accordion title="Practical advice for bringing your team on board">
  * **Start with your core analytics team.** Invite the people who will define metrics and manage definitions first. They can validate the data before a wider launch.
  * **Use SSO from day one if you can.** It simplifies onboarding and keeps your IT team happy.
  * **Review roles quarterly.** As people change jobs or leave, make sure their access still makes sense.
  * **Lean on Viewer and Restricted roles.** Not everyone needs Analyst access. Giving stakeholders a Viewer role keeps things simple and secure.

## Next Steps

Once your team is set up, you may want to:

* [Review your governance setup](/governance/categories-and-roles) to make sure sensitive data is protected.
* [Explore metrics and segments](/platform/metrics) to see what the platform can answer.
